Lower Dolpo Trek

Overview And Highlights

The Lower Dolpo trek

is one of the exciting and adventurous trek programs located in the Western Hilly region of Nepal. The Lower Dolpo trek trail is off-the –beaten path, thus provides an excellent opportunity to have a challenging trek completely in a remote Himalayan district of Nepal called Dolpo. It is the biggest district in Nepal and the region is famous for unique culture, century old tradition, rich bio-diversity,

She-Phuksundo Lake

and great Himalayan Mountains. Government of Nepal has established She Phuksundo National Park in order to preserve bio-diversity and cultural heritage of the region.

We have designed 15 days

Lower Dolpo trek itinerary

based on our previous experience. This itinerary first goes to She Phuksundo Lake and then to Dho Tarap following a clock-wise direction. Trekkers have to cross two high passes Baga La (5090m) and Numa La (5360m). These passes allow you to captures the outstanding view of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Putha Hiunchuli, and other Tibetan mountains such as Kugung La and Khyung La. During summer time, caravan of sheep and yaks grazing and heading towards their destination adds intangible value of this trip. The people of this region still practice the

Bon religion

which is considered as pre-Buddhist religion.

Nepal Environmental Treks & Expedition

has been arranging a

Lower Dolpo trek

every year for small as well as for big groups. We have competent and professional team who has extensive knowledge of the Dolpo region. Except in the winter (December, January and February) season, all other months are fine to do the Lower Dolpo trek. Please join us to explore

Lower Dolpo

at your convenience.
